March 7, 2022

Public Agenda is pleased to announce the newest member to join its Board of Directors, Claude M. Millman, a partner at Kostelanetz & Fink, LLP.

Claude is a graduate of Stanford University and Columbia Law School who brings more than three decades of public and private sector legal expertise to the board. He served as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) where he oversaw the Environmental Protection Unit and led civil racketeering litigation against waterfront offenders. Claude received the John Marshall Award, the Department of Justice’s highest recognition of legal excellence, for litigation against the New York City Housing Authority that helped rectify racial discrimination in tenant selection. At Kostelanetz & Fink, Claude has represented a swath of clients ranging from publicly-traded companies to major non-profit organizations.

In addition to his legal work, Claude has a distinguished record of service in New York City government, having served as Deputy Commissioner at what would become the Business Integrity Commission, as Director of the Mayor's Office of Contract Services, and as Executive Director and later Commissioner of the Charter Revision Commission.

In his free time, Claude hones his creative chops playing the electric bass.

Public Agenda is excited to welcome Claude and his wealth of experience to its board. His history of service, expertise in the non-profit sector, and deep knowledge of local government will strengthen Public Agenda and aid in the organization’s mission of strengthening democracy.
