New Trust Research Featured on ABIM Foundation Blog

Director of Research David Schleifer and Senior Research Associate Rebecca Silliman shared findings from our recent report on building trust between people with Medicaid and primary care doctors on the ABIM Foundation blog. When researchers and clinicians talk about trust in health care, they are almost always talking about patients’ trust in physicians. But patients also can suffer when doctors do not trust them.

Public Agenda’s recent research, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, focuses on how to build mutual trust between people insured by Medicaid and the primary care physicians who treat them. In the blog post, Schleifer and Silliman discuss the nuanced nature of trust, best practices for building it and how trust—or a lack thereof—impacts patients.
