On too many issues, the political discussion provides more heat than light, and the public doesn't have a chance to deliberate over the choices for solving problems. That certainly applies to health care reform, an area in which opinion is split, often in contradictory ways.

As if anyone needed proof that immigration will remain a major issue, a new international survey reports that some 700 million people worldwide say they would move to another country if they could. Not surprisingly, the largest single group, one-quarter, say their first choice would be to come to the United States.

Isaac Rowlett

Isaac Rowlett works on projects including outreach to community groups to assist them in using the tools of public engagement in exploring and adopting solutions to shared problems.

Isaac's background includes leadership roles in Students Taking Action Now Darfur and for the Milwaukee office of the Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group; internships at The American Jewish World Service in New York and the Center for Policy Research and Dialogue in Ethiopia; and volunteer work for La Union de San Antonio de Jure in Honduras.

He is a graduate of New York University, where he pursued a concentration in Genocide Studies, Human Rights and Conflict Resolution.
