Confidence in U.S. Foreign Policy Index, Volume 7, Spring 2010

Americans are less anxious about foreign affairs than they've been for the past four years, according to the Spring 2010 edition of the Confidence in U.S. Foreign Policy Index. Produced in collaboration with Foreign Affairs, the index is designed to track public views about international relations much the same way the Consumer Confidence Index measures public attitudes on the economy. The decline is partly because Americans believe our global image has improved and partly because the troubled economy and other domestic concerns are pushing foreign policy aside. But there's a significant partisan difference here. Democrats and independents are less worried about foreign policy, but Republicans are substantially more anxious.
