Combined Themes and Recommendations From Five Wards

This report, a companion to "Combined Themes and Recommendations from 5 Wards," summarizes the main themes and recommendations from an engagement initiative in Washington, DC, in summer 2012. Commissioned by the Deputy Mayor for Education, the initiative included Community Conversations in wards 1, 4, 5, 7 and 8. This report identifies the concerns, questions and ideas for action or follow‐up most frequently mentioned by participants in each Community Conversation. These summaries are intended to inform Community Conversation planners, concerned citizens and community and city leaders as they make choices about which education priorities to act on, plan for next steps, and determine the best means of integrating community recommendations into decision making about quality education for children in DC.
