Immigration : Legal Permanent Status
Do you think that the US is decreasing the amount of immigrants to come each year? Or are they still welcoming newcomers into the state as they were before Sept 11? And do you believe decreasing the amount of immigrants to come the the US will help assure the safety and prevent another terrorist attack?

And should legal permanent status be easily available to immigrants who has been in the US for over five years?
In present day, we believe immigrants are taking away jobs from people who are permanent residents, but in reality everyone has the same opportunity to acquire the same job. Whoever is more fit for the job is hired. If an immigrant gets hired for a job a US citizen wanted, this means the immigrant was more well suited for the job.
One would say that there is a decrease of immigrants allowed to the US after the event of Sept 11, but in sociological research there hasn't been much of a decrease between 2001-08. The only noticeably decrease was in 2003, but then the following years it increased and fluctuated without much of an increase or decrease.
