Most Americans say gays should have equal employment rights, but support falls for occupations like teachers and clergy

They ahould be able to have an equal chance in every job. Why would their sexual orientation effect their working ability. Also, why do you care if they like the same sex. It's their life not yours, they already have enough, they dont need you telling them what they are doing is wrong. So they should have an equal chance to get jobs just like everyone else.

I think the results of which jobs people support say a lot about Americans and how small minded they are. So why we say, "Yes, I think they should be able to have any job." Then turn around and say, "But these are the ones they should have."

they should hve the same rights they deserve to live there life and deserve to be hapy

The right to be employed without discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is not a special right. It applies to everyone. It means someone can't be denied employment because he is heterosexual or homosexual.

A special right is one that promotes one group above another. Now, for example, heterosexuals have special rights in regard to marriage. I would love to see a constitutional amendment that says there shall be no special rights based on sexual orientation. It would mean the state of South Carolina would have to recognize my marriage to another man.
