Most Americans favor the cloning of human organs for medical transplants

This post was written for the 20 community colleges participating in Completion by Design, a five-year Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation initiative that aims to significantly increase completion rates for low-income students under 26. As a “National Assistance partner” for Completion by Design, Public Agenda provides direct assistance to the colleges to help them build capacity for solutions-oriented dialogue among faculty, staff and administration. Here, Public Agenda's Alison Kadlec discusses best practices for authentic internal stakeholder engagement. While the post is geared toward Completion by Design planning teams, the principles are useful for any authentic engagement process.

Far too often, throughout our work in the education field, we've seen even the most earnest and promising ideas from experts and reformers for improving schools and ramping up student learning met with confusion, anxiety or even anger from teachers, parents, students or community members.

2011 Public Agenda
Why is it that everyone believes cloning is ridiculous, but this chart says it's ok to clone organs? I know there are many risks to be taken, but if we try to clone a human than we can gain a lot of infromation on how the human reacts and if it's possible. Scientist should try to clone a human. No one cares about cloning animals, why not?
well in my favor i think that cloning human organs is great because it will help people get cured and it will also help me out BIG time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As well as being able to understand the human body, cloning can help us repair the human body. Imagine war veterans with missing limbs being able to have those limbs regrown, and then attached again. Hospital patients in need of new kidneys, lungs, livers, all receiving those organs in matter of day, even hours! Also, cloning a person’s organ means that there’s a zero percent chance of the body rejecting the replaced organ.
i think it is right to clone organs to save peole
Coning human organs would be the downfall of human civilization. The world is already overpopulated, people dying isn't bad. We shouldn't try to save eveyone
Just wait until its you that needs to be saved.
The cycle of life is that everyone dies, cloning body parts for dying people would be extremely expensive and the death rate would drop. Some may think that is good, but if you look at the effect that it would have on the world as a whole, it would be devastating. Life and death keeps the world partly in balance and when one greatly out weighs the other, the world is then affected. Unemployment rate increases because there are so many people and then the homeless rate increases and taxes increase for healthcare. Society will benefit at first but the after affects in our grandchildren and great grandchildren's generation is detrimental. Cloning still has a while until it will be possible to to make functioning arms and legs, but when it available it is your own opinion to be for or against it. I am not trying to change what anyone believes, just how they look at it.
Is there any places in the world that the public can ask to sign up to get a cloned kidney? Lets push forward and get cloning body parts real so people can start living a normal life again. Or are all the drug companies to worried they might lose money on all the anti-rejection pills?
In my opinion cloning organs should be legal because it would help save many live. This would also help with finding compatible doners because the DNA would be almost identical to your DNA or the person your going to donate to.
If we keep saving people we will have overpopulation which we are currently trying to stop!
It would be rare indeed, to have someone who is actually suffering from a deadly disease object to cloning organs, Until one knows the horror of a weak heart, failing liver, malfunctioning kidney and the suffering associated with those dibilatating conditions or has a loved one suffering, they couldn't possibly understand the need for clonned organs. Facing death daily or living under such restrictions simply screams for sceince to advance to the next step of treatment. Clonning may not prolong life, because old age gets to us all, but it will ease suffering and allow people to live better a better quality life until we reach old age. The technology exists, we just need someone with the gumption to start the process.
who's to say that the same dna that caused the disease would not just cause the same problem later on.
