Majorities say abortion should be legal in some, but not all, circumstances

Public Agenda helps communities and the nation
solve tough problems through:
Research that illuminates people's views & values;
Engagement that gets people talking, learning from each other and working together on solutions; and
Communications that spreads the word and builds momentum for change.
By doing so, we seek to contribute to a democracy in which problem-solving triumphs over gridlock and inertia, and where public policy reflects the deliberations and values of the citizenry.
Public Agenda is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. You can find out more about us in our What We Do and Frequently Asked Questions pages.

This post was written for the 20 community colleges participating in Completion by Design, a five-year Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation initiative that aims to significantly increase completion rates for low-income students under 26. As a “National Assistance partner” for Completion by Design, Public Agenda provides direct assistance to the colleges to help them build capacity for solutions-oriented dialogue among faculty, staff and administration. Here, Public Agenda's Alison Kadlec discusses best practices for authentic internal stakeholder engagement. While the post is geared toward Completion by Design planning teams, the principles are useful for any authentic engagement process.

Far too often, throughout our work in the education field, we've seen even the most earnest and promising ideas from experts and reformers for improving schools and ramping up student learning met with confusion, anxiety or even anger from teachers, parents, students or community members.

2011 Public Agenda
I the woman cannot afford to have that child then she should not be having sex ,how unresponsible can you be. Give the baby to someone who wants it. And fix her so she can't have anymore. Seems like she wants to play then she should be able to pay the price of it! If it was that easy everybody would do it. I think that our society has to many choices for this, My God we are talking about a life not just another toy. I wonder what is wrong with everybody. Look at all the people who want kids and can't have them, Why not let them have your child to take care of it. But instead we charge thousands of dollars to adopt them out. Talk about wanting to get rich off of peoples love for a child. Then you have kids who kill because they are scared of what the parents wpuld say. Have a place to give these babys a home instead of looding the little angels. Because they are angles. Andpeople are killing them because they dodn't want to deal with reality. My daughter was supose to have downs, doctors wantes me to abort. I said no I don't care I will take care of her. So I had a perfect daughter nothing wrong. Guess what ? the test was wrong. And three months after her birth. My son of 5 yrs. old was killed in and accident. Know what would have happened if I would have lost both. Iwould have gone crazy.
yea man
i belive that only under the circumstances in which the pregnancy was caused by rap or inscest, or if the mothers life is in danger to the point of death should only be when abortion should be a choice.
