Americans are divided on whether homosexuality should be accepted or discouraged by society

Public Agenda helps communities and the nation
solve tough problems through:
Research that illuminates people's views & values;
Engagement that gets people talking, learning from each other and working together on solutions; and
Communications that spreads the word and builds momentum for change.
By doing so, we seek to contribute to a democracy in which problem-solving triumphs over gridlock and inertia, and where public policy reflects the deliberations and values of the citizenry.
Public Agenda is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. You can find out more about us in our What We Do and Frequently Asked Questions pages.

This post was written for the 20 community colleges participating in Completion by Design, a five-year Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation initiative that aims to significantly increase completion rates for low-income students under 26. As a “National Assistance partner” for Completion by Design, Public Agenda provides direct assistance to the colleges to help them build capacity for solutions-oriented dialogue among faculty, staff and administration. Here, Public Agenda's Alison Kadlec discusses best practices for authentic internal stakeholder engagement. While the post is geared toward Completion by Design planning teams, the principles are useful for any authentic engagement process.

Far too often, throughout our work in the education field, we've seen even the most earnest and promising ideas from experts and reformers for improving schools and ramping up student learning met with confusion, anxiety or even anger from teachers, parents, students or community members.

2011 Public Agenda
I think GAY MARRIAGE should be allowed in our country! It's their life, let them live it how they want to. I also think its wrong to critize them about it. Thats whats wrong with the society today, they worry about other people sexuality instead worrying about how our government is being run!
i agree 100% with this person. gay people should have just as bit every right to be happy with someone like straight people can. im straight and i disagree with how people treat gay people.
Dido! That's how every american should feel. I am also straight but I feel that our society is very cruel to think they should be able to take someone elses happiness away. Wake up people, it's not your life so let others live it the way they want to.
i think gays should not be together cuz thats not how we were made to be... its girl with guy not guy with guy...
Perhaps.
But is this not a land where people have the power of -freedom-?
See, the key there is the word -people-. Are gays denied the rights every other man and woman in this nation have? Yes, apparently? Denying gays their rights is like denying an ethnic group rights. It's racism, simply with another name and target.
i agree let them live their lifes in peace
i think no matter what their sexuality is they should all keep it in the bedroom, if your gay thats fine. i just dont want to see you prove it! and the same thing with male and fe. holding hands is a major difference then dry humping on a table!
for goodness sakes people, leave gays alone....mind your own buisness. (for strong unbelievers)
