The Main Challenge in Completing College: Juggling Work and School

If getting a college education is the most important step a young person can take to get ahead, why are so many young people dropping out? In With Their Whole Lives Ahead of Them, we ask young people themselves about the problem, both those who graduated and those who didn't. The answer may surprise you. For most, the challenge isn't money or academics – it's the juggling act of work, school and family. Most of those who dropped out said they needed to work more to make ends meet. Find out more about the study, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
